I can hear the rain
not in the natural
but through structure
not just being
but battering against
being known
I watch technology flicker
trying to bear up, a slipping grip
shivering response to sirens
and a quickening draft
There must be a puddle
in the street below
every tire makes a wet announcement
next door a baby cries
All of us wondering
none of us knowing
when our own devices
will be the light.
I do like this very much. How uncomfortable we are these days when the flickering starts… Some times I wish the rain had more power than it does. Great to see your words here again….
ReplyDeleteI think the rain has amazing powers. You should see the way it frizzes my hair! No stopping it :)
DeleteI prefer to deal with the power outages. Glad you liked. It ain't much, but it's all I got.
Finding words amidst toil and strife can be fucking hard !!!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie :*)
Yes, and yet somehow you manage to do it on a consistent basis. What's your secret? I'm having a hellova time. Whatever talents I may have once possessed are in hiding, or have escaped. Perhaps one day I can entice them back :)
DeleteI've seen fire and I've seen rain.
ReplyDelete♫I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
DeleteI've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend...♫
'But I never thought I'd see you again'
